About 3D Fitness
Discover Purposeful Training
Why call the studio “3D Fitness”? No, no special glasses are required to see us…
We train the body to be functional in 3 planes of motion, i.e. sagittal, frontal, transverse, & all combinations of the 3, because that’s the world we live in! Understanding fitness requires an understanding of “AFS” or Applied Functional Science. This includes not only extensive knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, but also how the body in motion relates to the laws of physics and all of the forces it encounters during daily activity.
Often times we'll encourage the body by using a manual technique called FMR, or Functional Manual Reaction. "Functional Manual Reaction is the name that the Gray Institute uses to describe the application of hands to bone segments in order to facilitate an optimal sequence of motion during a functional movement. FMR is used during the clinical tasks of movement assessment, functional training, and rehabilitation." www.GrayInstitute.com

A Statement from Our Owner
Lisa Weigand, 3D Fitness, Houston, TX
"Our wonderful bodies are uniquely and beautifully made. And they are designed to move. Life improves when we participate in physical activities we enjoy.
Fitness & personal training can serve many purposes for us, from improving athletic or job performance, reducing stress or body aches, keeping up with our children, controlling our weight and other health measurements, using our body as a means of transportation, or expressing ourselves artistically through types of dance. Whatever the specific purpose, it is clear that physical fitness improves our quality of life.
The body is connected to the mind and spirit and one influences the other. You simply cannot train one without influencing the other. For example, when we see and feel our bodies perform more gracefully, we gain confidence. When we learn more about the mechanisms of how our bodies move or “function”, we feel more in control of them. This sense of control often translates to a feeling of empowerment in other areas of our lives. It's this idea that has prompted so many to seek out personal training at 3D Fitness in Houston, TX." - Lisa Weigand
